Logitech K380 Review – The best keyboard for iPad?

Are you looking to buy a new keyboard for productivity and studies? If yes, then you’re at the right place. Here, I’m going to share with you my one-month experience with the Logitech K380.

I’ve been using the Logitech K380 for writing articles, blogs, and casual web browsing. A lot of my personal work gets done with this keyboard.

If you’re too lazy to read the entire blog, here is my upfront conclusion. If you’re in the market for a good bluetooth keyboard that you can use with your personal computer, iPad, Macbook or smartphone, then the Logitech K380 is a good option. So that’s it. You can go over and buy this keyboard right now. You won’t have to regret it.

With that being said, let’s get deep into the review of this absolute minimalistic keyboard.

For this review, I’m dividing it into 5 sections. So you can skip around the section and read the section that interests you.

Design

The Logitech K380 is very compact. It is surprisingly well-built and easily justify the price tag. It comes in four shades –  Blue, Black, and Rose and Off-white.

The entire size of this keyboard is comparable to that of my iPad Air 4. It’s that much compact. However, don’t get fooled by the size of this keyboard, because the typing experience with the K380 is an absolute blast.

Logitech has done an incredible job with the spacing of the keys with the K380, and made the experience similar to that of a full size keyboard.

So adapting to this keyboard from a full size keyboard is not going to be tough. I personally found no issue going back and forth between my full size Dell keyboard and K380.

Logitech achieved the compactness of the K380 by removing the number pads, which I think is a bearable trade-off to give this keyboard the compact size. Because of that, one major advantage many people are going to experience is that it will now be easy to carry this keyboard in your backpack and use it in cafes and coffee shops, or even libraries. As t’s so easy to carry around, you can also move around in your room and make those stressful work from home days a little stress free by working in the couch or your favourite living room with the K380.

Connectivity

The K380 works on Bluetooth 5.0 and connects up to 3 devices. You can switch between devices easily, so working on mutiple devices with the same keyboard is not a dream anyone. So far I haven’t had any drop-offs or lag while typing.

Typing experience

The ultimate metric of any keyboard must be how it feels to type on it. The K380 is an absolute blast in this department. The keys provide solid feedback and are a pleasant experience to type on. The spacing of the keys are excellents, so it takes away the feeling that we are typing on a small and compact keyboard. Personally I found it easy to type this keyboard just like my full size Dell keyboard. So if you want a solid typing experience, then this is the right keyboard for you.

Battery life

Logitech claims a very long battery life for the K380. I’ve been using the K380 for more than a month and I’ve never thought of checking the battery of this keyboard. When I want to work on this keyboard, I just turn it on and that’s it. The K380 uses 2 AAA batteries, and the Logitech claims a battery back-up of upto 2 years with moderate usage. To really say something about the keyboard’s battery life, I need to use it for a longer period of time. But so far the keyboard works fine and connects to all my devices without any issues.

Some Nitpicking

While there’s nothing much to say about the drawbacks of K380, I will share some nitpicks, as this might be important for you.

When it comes to typing, some people might feel the feedback of the keys is a little firm or rigid. Another thing I personally noticed is that the Space Bar of this keyboard is little less quiet compared to other keys. If you’re someone who wants a quite keyboard, you might need to press the space bar nicely. The last thing I noticed is the weight of the keyboard. It is on the heavier side, but after a week, I got used to it. Apart from these small nitpicks, I found no issues whatsoever.

How it work with the iPad

The Logitech K380 works smoothly with my new iPad Air 4. It connects to my iPad along with my Logitech M590 mice and Galaxy Buds at the same time without any issues. Everything works together and the so far I haven’t faced any lag so far while tying when multiple devices are connected. The bluetooth pairing works everytime without any issues and so far the experience has been real good. So if you want to convert your iPad into a productivity power house. Then the K380 is the keyboard to go.

Overall experience

Considering the sleek and minimalistic design, compact size, the ease of connectivity, typing experience and long battery, I think this keyboard is a wonderful asset to boost your productivity.

If you’re an iPad user who wants to turn your ipad into a computer for personal work and college, or if you want to pair it up with your windows or Mac, this is an ideal keyboard for you. You can type long hours without hurting your fingers and can take it with you on your travels and still have more space in your bag.

That’s it! What are you waiting for? Just go and buy your new Logitech K380
